On Tuesday 2nd May Year 5 went to London. In the morning the children visited the Royal Festival Hall and enjoyed listening to the London Philharmonic Orchestra play a variety of music from around the world. The children were amazed to hear such a large orchestra and were very impressed with how in time the musicians were. Once this finished the children had a stroll along the River Thames towards the Globe. After picnicking outside the Tate Modern, we entered Shakespeare’s Globe where Year 5 were to take part in a drama workshop. The guides showed us around the Globe and the children enjoyed smelling all the wood and seeing some actors come on stage and warm up for their afternoon performance.
The drama workshop focused on Romeo and Juliette. It was a fast paced, action packed hour and half where the children were shown how to alter their voices, body language and interact with each other.
It was a wonderful day and the children behaved brilliantly.
