Your child will learn about the main stages of the human life cycle within the context of caring, responsible relationships. With younger children, questions are answered as they arise. During Year 6, sex and relationship education is taught as part of a topic on health.
Parents are able to withdraw their children from all or part of these sex education lessons (but they are not permitted to withdraw them from lessons on the biological aspects of human growth and reproduction, which are part of the National Curriculum). A copy of the governors’ full policy on sex and relationship education is available on request.
