This week for our netball match, the girls travelled to Grove Junior School. From looking at the photos below you would think that the match was played on different days, however the changeable weather meant that we played in snow and freezing but beautiful sunshine. For the first time the girls didn’t wear netball kit as the wind chill made the day feel like minus 5 and so I made the executive decision that warmth was more essential than team netball skirts!
The girls played well and defended brilliantly. Defending is great however I have explained to the girls that we will only score if we get the ball down to our goal. Although we lost both matches the girls were commended on their great marking and team spirit which was a wonderful compliment to have received from the Grove staff.
Living the Dream Dance Workshop
Since January, our school has been hosting the club, Living the Dream. Living the Dream is a Dance and performing arts club. Last Tuesday, every class from Year 1 – 6 attended a half hour session of street dance. This was run by one of the Living the Dream coaches. The session was fast paced, fun and saw the children learn, practise and improve a variety of dance moves. They built up a dance sequence which they performed at the end of the session. It was a fun and enjoyable half hour for staff and children alike.
