Assembly plays a key role at Roundwood Primary in creating a sense of
community. Our assemblies are a time for us to join together and share themes, stories and celebrations which reflect general moral as well as religious beliefs. We hold a broadly Christian-based assembly every day either in class, within a Key Stage or as a school.
On a Monday our assembly is linked to a whole school theme where, during the course of the week, children are asked to demonstrate actions and behaviours linked to the theme. They then may achieve the ‘Top Banana’ award which is given during Friday’s assembly. Currently these themes are linked to the school’s work on 5 Ways to WellBeing:
Class assemblies also take place regularly, where a class presents an assembly on a chosen theme.
Parents not wishing their child to attend collective worship or RE can request their withdrawal and suitable arrangements may be made following consultation with the Headteacher.
