Learning at Roundwood Primary
The learners of today will support the world of tomorrow and, as such, what our pupils learn needs to enable them to recognise links both between and within all areas of the curriculum in order that they are best equipped to respond to an ever-evolving future.
As a one and a half form entry school, our curriculum is designed to develop children’s cognition over time within a two-year rolling programme of learning to fit our mixed age class Age Phase structure, ensuring no child explores the same topic twice. All subjects are taught across all year groups.
Learning should be fun, engaging, dynamic and responsive to children’s needs and interests. Through opportunities to explore topics together, we aim to develop learners who are resilient and resourceful, are self-motivated and independent and who can challenge themselves, their friends and their teachers to be the best they can be.
